You too are a Medicine Wheel, and the magic of your Perceiving will be unfolded.

” A wee child toddling in a wonder world , , , I prefer to their dogma my excursions into the natural gardens where the voice of the Great Spirit is heard in the twittering of birds, the rippling of mighty waters, and the sweet breathing of flowers. If this is Paganism, then at present, at least, I am a Pagan.”
- Gertrude Simmons Bonnin (Redbird)
So be patient with the events in life that find you feeling disappointed, and remember each line we script in the Great Play we call life, is a line that is never wasted, and a line that can ultimately lead to something more beautiful than we can ever possibly imagine in the present. This is true for each one of us.
-Tim Watson
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
The entire Creation still follows the Original Instructions of life. The Tree, the fruits, they never fail.
They never make a mistake to bring their fruits in their season.
The Animals never make a mistake.
They still live as they were created.
Among the Creation…Life, the Circle, a measurement with no beginning and no ending.
- Phillip Deere (Muskogee Creek 1977)
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.
-Albert Einstein
Think of yourself as an incandescent power, illuminated and perhaps forever talked to by God and his messengers.
- Brenda Ueland
Every element of creation expresses the Creator. Within each mountain, each stone, and each heart lies the Great Spirit… When looking upon a sunset, the trees, or even your worst enemy, you are looking at the Creator. Know this and give praise and prayer.
- Gertrude Simmons Bonnin (Redbird)
The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it and to foster its renewal is our only hope. —Wendell Berry
The universe will reward you for taking risks on its behalf.

“I salute the light within your eyes where the whole universe dwells. For when you are at the center within you and I am at that place within me, we shall be One.”
Spoken by Chief Crazy Horse, September, 1877.
In a dark time, the eye begins to see.

New Monk Library History
Sister Sunder Wells, visionary philosopher and founder of the New Monk Project, held and expanded her vision partly through her ongoing research and readings. As a result, she collected over 1800 books and related educational resources which are now available to our New Monk members. Her collection is seen as a resource focusing on evolving inner awareness, Earth community awareness, and our society’s emerging awareness of human ecology connections with Earth ecology. That is to say, she sees the health of our interior selves is ultimately tied to the health of our planet. What is foundational within the New Monk vision is the realization that our thoughts and perceptions shape our relationship with the world around us most powerfully.
Through the establishment of the New Monk Project Library we have committed ourselves to sharing these resources with affiliated organizations, members, and interested individuals who seek to find fresh sources of inspiration and guidance. Through offering out library’s resources to our local and global community, we participate in the great global transformation of human consciousness being expressed as each one of our members journey further towards their individual path of self realization.
The New Monk Library offers two listings. The first is our “Recommended Reading List”. This list is most representative of what The New Monk Project endorses. This portion of our collection is seen as a pathway helping us envision new tomorrows for ourselves, and the Earth community.
For those wishing to review our collection, you may select each category shown above simply by clicking over the activated name. A listing of all titles shown by author will then appear. Another way we will be sharing resources will be to offer discussion courses from the Northwest Earth Institute. These courses cover many topics related to our mission at the New Monk Project.
You can use our online search form to find a particular title or author.
