Journer: Our separate knowing and doing is not working well. We are out of sync with reality.

Nez: We are notas evolved as we think, but in our multiverse we are becoming conscious of our one universe, our one solar system, our one planet—and one spirit at the heart ofall. On to embodying oneness.

Journer: Getting our knowing and doing in sync with reality.

Journer: What’sit going to look like by 2025 in light of climate change and the economy?

Nez: Very scary,unless we get our priorities straight as the Earth community. That being said,Journer, what is keeping that from happening, or what is the underlying contradiction to our living together creatively on our home planet?

Journer: Changing our hearts thus was what Thomas Berry saw as his vocation.

Nez: The manifest world, including humans, is whole, holy, and sacred—the meaning of “namaste.” Let us so love the world.

“Numinous”

Journer: In hisbook The Idea of the Holy (1923), Rudolf Otto coins the word “numinous” totalk about our deepest experiences. He says encounters with “mysterium tremendum” and“mysterium fascinas” leave us with fear and tremblingand overwhelming fascination. Immediately birth and death come to mind.

Nez: “Numinous” experienceshave generated religion, spirituality, psychology and such. Awestruck by that power,we are left with our most essential gifts: humility, gratitude, compassion, andthe greatest of all, communion.

Nez: I trust“everybody” includes non-humans, such as fish and bees, snow capped mountains,frigid north and south poles, adequate water resources, etcetera? I trust they too are “right” and “to be honored,cherished, and included in a more gracious, spacious, and compassionateembrace”?

Journer: A profound statement of ourhuman role, to serve the Earth. At least we have great maps of the Earth.

Nez: Would that religious,educational, political, and economic leaders understood what this little lady knows. Humanleaders have basically sought to serve the well-being of themselves and some humans,but rarely the well-being of the whole Earth community.

Journer: How do Idetermine what I need to live out my life?

Nez: On average, $50,000 US dollars a year for those in the West, though the 1% will howl. The remainder is needed by others.

Journer: I can’tbegin to imagine what a difference that would make for our beloved Earth community.
